FAQ
-
Can I watch and/or film my child's class? No, Studio access is restricted to students only. Parents, siblings and friends are not permitted in the dance rooms. Tinies/Mini/Junior parents will occasionally be invited in towards the end of class at an appropriate time to view their child’s progress. As per our Rules & Regulations, there is to be no filming or photography of students during class or at rehearsals/performances. Images taken by Bound Dance staff and hired photographers/videographers are held securely and used for promotional purposes only.
-
Can my child try a class before we enrol?Absolutely! We offer all new students one week of free trial lessons to try out as many classes within their age group as they wish. Registrations for Free Trial Classes can be made via our Parent Portal during open registration periods. Please email us at enquiries@bounddance.com for more information.
-
How big are your classes? We keep all our classes capped at a maximum size depending on the style and age group to give our students the best learning experience possible. We believe our students receive the best possible dance training when class sizes are kept smaller, so that every student has the opportunity to receive personalised feedback from their class teachers. Student Teachers are used in our younger classes. Capping our classes does mean we reach full capacity in some styles and age groups. If your child is interested in joining a class that is full, we can add them to a Wait List to be notified as soon as a position opens up.
-
Does my child need a uniform for their first lesson? No they do not. Whilst our uniform is compulsory, we allow all new students three weeks to settle into classes and make sure they've selected the correct styles before we ask that the correct uniform and dance shoes are purchased. For trial lessons and for a student's first few weeks, any active wear is acceptable for classes. (No jeans or school dresses)
-
Where can I buy the correct footwear? There are two dance stores that have our full and most up to date Uniform Guides! Energetiks Essendon - 166 Buckley St, Essendon Mino Dance Sunbury - 25 B Brook St, Sunbury Whilst other dance stores may stock some of the correct footwear, the two stores listed above are best equipped to guide you in purchasing all the correct items for your dancer.
-
Where do students keep their belongings?Students can bring their dance bags in and keep them in the studio or outside in the waiting area. Students should always bring their water bottles into class with them to minimise disruptions during class.
-
How can I contact teachers or staff?Through Bound Dance administration only (phone, email, or desk). It is not appropriate to communicate via private social media or request teachers contact information. Bound Dance directors and staff will not respond to messages directed to personal social media pages. We ask that all parents avoid use of our Bound Dance Facebook or Instagram pages to ask urgent questions or let us know of absences, as these pages are not always manned. Absences must be submitted via the Parent Portal. The best way to receive a response to any questions or queries is to send an email through to enquiries@bounddance.com

How do I receive important information and updates throughout the year? Our primary form of communication is by email. We ask that all families ensure they mark our email address as a 'safe sender' so that they never miss an update or have important information go to junk folders. Term Newsletters are distributed via email, as well as account statements and reminders. We use our Social Media pages as another means of communication, and ask all our parents to join our private Bound Dance Community Page on Facebook when they enrol their child.
