Mid Year Concert
Towards the end of Term 2, students will perform at our Mid Year Concert, allowing them to put into practice their learnt skills and choreography by performing in front of an audience. For a lot of our younger students, this is their first performance and is a great opportunity to practice being on stage before our End of Year Concert, therefore we keep this concert a little more 'relaxed' compared to our End of Year Concert. This is also a great opportunity for both the students and families from our two locations to come together as one for the first time each year and be a part of our Bound Dance Family.
End Of Year Concert
During the year students will focus on learning routines in each of their classes, which will incorporate taught technique and performance skills that they will showcase in an End of Year Concert in December. With the concert being a main focus throughout the year, students learn that their classmates are also their teammates and are taught to work together to put on a performance through dedication and commitment. Students experience all aspects of performance through our End of Year Concert, including costuming, makeup, lighting and many other technical features. It is a fun and exciting way to conclude the end of the year and showcase the hard work and fun that has gone into each routine.
In order to provide our students with the highest possible quality of costumes, Bound Dance hires out our costumes to students for Photo Day and our concerts. This allows us to provide everyone with fully finished costumes that will not require any sequinning or beading, meaning less work for parents come concert time. Students will receive their costumes for Photo Day and other events and will need to return them to Bound Dance after each concert.
During October we hold our annual Photo Day in which all students participate in having professional photos taken of them in each of their costumes with hair and make up complete.
Belinda Strodder, our professional photographer of choice, takes single shots of every student in each costume along with group shots of classes. These are available for purchase online shortly after Photo Day.
Belinda Strodder is an award winning dance photographer, voted Victoria's Favourite Dance Photographer in the 2014 VIC Dance Awards.
